Hack your Leave: How to Maximise your Annual Leave in 2025 in Ireland
This guide will help you maximise your annual leave. Follow the steps below to plan and submit your leave requests for 2025.
Dates to book off in December going into January 2025
Kick off 2025 with 12 days out of office. By requesting the 27th, 30th and 31st of December and the 2nd and 3rd of January off, you'll only have to take 5 days annual leave.
Dates to book off in March
Take a whole week off to celebrate the patron Saint of Ireland. St.Patricks Day falls on a Monday this year. By booking the 18th - 21st off, you can enjoy 9 consecutive days out of office while using just 4 days annual leave.
Dates to book off in April
The next opportunity for a long break is over Easter. You can turn 9 days annual leave into 16 days holidays. You'll just need to request the 14th -18th and the 22nd to the 25th off.
Dates to book off in May
Make the most of the May bank holiday by turning 4 days annual leave in 9 days vacation. You'll have to book the 6th to the 9th off in order to enjoy this break at the beginning of summer.
Dates to book off in June
Looking to start June with a few days away from the office? Turn 2 days annual leave into a 5 day vacation by booking off the 30th of May and the 3rd of June.
Dates to book off in August
There's also an opportunity to have a long weekend at the beginning of August. With the bank holiday on the 4th, you can use two days annual leave to enjoy 5 days away from your desk. You'll just need to request the 1st and the 5th of August off.
Dates to book off in October
In October, 5 days off in a row are up for grabs. You'll just need to submit a leave request through for the 24th and the 28th to make the most of spooky season!
Dates to book off in December
Turn 6 days annual leave into 13 days holidays in December. By requesting the 22nd to the 24th , you can make maximise time spent with family and friends over the festive period.
By using up to 33 days leave, you can get up to 74 days off - now that's a hack.
