Lagan Engineering are a family run fabrication company based in Tyrone and on. Specialising in equipment manufacture for the quarry, recycling and sand washing industry, Lagan Engineering have been in business for 20 years and a TimeKeeper customer for over a quarter of that! We asked them how it's going.

What solution did you have in place before TimeKeeper?

Before TimeKeeper, Lagan used a classic old wall clock system. Whilst these have been an industry go to for millennia, they're not without flaws. From buddy clock-ins to queues at kick off, they're not the easiest of tools to work with and still require manual intervention. Prior to implementing TimeKeeper, employees leave was also difficult to manage and there were often delays processing requests and tracking individual and team leave.

How would you describe the process of implementing TimeKeeper and tailoring it to your needs?

Rolling out a new app can be daunting, it's important to make sure the change is right for the business and beneficial in the long run. Lagan explained that 'Timekeeper was a very easy switch, the process was very straight forward and user friendly.' Minimising any disruption whilst implementing a new tool and processes can be difficult. Therefore it is vital that any new solution can provide adequate support, training and resources where applicable so you can have the best possible start. 'Sean and his team are always available for any questions we have' Lagan told us.

As a result of using TimeKeeper, what has been the greatest impact?

Payroll used to take Lagan Engineering so much time each month with their existing manual time tracking tools and wall clock system. So it's no surprise that they 'have saved a lot of time in payroll processing as Timekeeper integrates with Brightpay.' Utilising APIs and integrations can make those pesky administrative tasks much simpler. With a few simple clicks, timesheets can be in BrightPay ready for processing. 'Employees also find it easier to track their annual leave and get responses quicker when they request days.' Utilising the Documents feature, 'TimeKeeper has also eliminated the need for us to email important documents to staff and have a storage space for employees to view documents at any time.'

Would you recommend TimeKeeper to other companies?

'Yes!' Lagan Engineering have used TimeKeeper for over 6 years, seeing the product evolve as new features developed. The TimeKeeper team works to 'add functions where possible to help suit our business need'.
